The blade has a split structure in which hard steel is
 sandwiched between soft iron, making it more resistant 
to cracking and breaking than an all-steel structure. 
The steel part is SK steel, which is often used for blades 
such as razors. It has high hardness and excellent wear 
resistance, and its sharpness does not change easily 
even after long-term use.
